Well, I survived the Severe Weather Afternoon which provided every Local News Team much fodder for hysterics. It wasn't two minutes after they were telling me to go into the hallway in my basement (um, hello, I don't have a basement, I live in a first floor apartment) or a small indoor room like a bathroom or a closet (because funnels can drop down at any time in any place) that they showed on the radars that my area was no longer in danger.
I think that's what I find so terrifying about Tornadoes. With hurricanes, you know they're coming. You have a projected path and you plan and prepare for it to hit (you can also tell how strong it is pretty far in advance). With the warning this afternoon, we had ZERO notice (and I put it in all caps and bold so you know I mean it), no time to plan or, God forbid, evacuate the area.
Anyway, it's over and I'm going out tonight. Karaoke is calling my name--it's been almost a year since I've sung in a bar, so.... see ya later!
