"Stay with us, it soon is evening, and night is falling."

Jan gave me a solo tonight at choir practice. Well, it's not a solo, really; I get my own part on the SSAA quartet in the middle section of "Stay With Us" by Egil Hovland. I'm quite excited about it, and I'm proud that she thought of me (as the other singers are paid soloists and a woman who wants to be).

She always skipped that section when she rehearsed it with us til now, so I'll have to look over it this week, but I really like the beginning and end, so I imagine I'll like the middle section. When we first learned it, I would confuse it with "Be Still My Soul" because they are both very rich-sounding, pretty (and predictable) SATB pieces.

Sigh.
