So, on Wednesday, I had my "karaoke party" at the Spot 2B. It was significantly less populated than last time I went to karaoke at the Spot, and most of my friends lamed out, but the three who came had a good time. Since it was underpopulated, I got to sing a lot, and I made friends with the DJ Quinn and the bartender Johnny Moe. Johnny is an actor as well as a barkeep (we realized within 5 minutes that he knows 2 folks I know from Hunchback), so be bought me a shot of Feckin Irish Whiskey (which was pretty great, I'm not going to lie). Suzanne, Fraser, and Soule were the only ones to make the party, but it was probably the most fun I've had a karaoke because I got to sing so much. Here's what I sang: One Moment In Time (thank you Whitney Houston!), Piano Man ("now John at the bar is a friend of mine" took on new meaning!), Believe, Like a Prayer, The House of the Rising Sun, Walk Like An Egyptian, Alcohol, and Tribute.
Anyway, that was sort of the highlight of my week. This afternoon, I trekked downtown and watched the studio rehearsal of Sometimes It Snows In April since tomorrow is the farewell performance and I can't afford a ticket. It was great to see everyone--the dancers and wardrobe staff--before I take off for the summer.
