More notes on the trip...

So, after the big-ass Jesus in Ohio, there were several other noteworthy landmarks from yesterday's drive up I-75.

1. At the Michigan border, there was a big sign that says, "Welcome to Michigan. Great Lakes. Great Times." (Priceless)

2. South of Toledo when 75 and 475 split, there is the huge mosque. Very impressive.

Last night, Julie & Peter and I went to Siam Square (in the sketchy, sketchy Quality Inn) where my chicken curry was mediocre, and Julie's ewe was really good. Then her roommate Lyn met us at Cafe Felix (which had a refreshingly European air about it) where we had over-priced fru-fru martinis (mine was called "Lady Godiva"). While we were there, Julie's lab-mate Carrie came by, but they'd already called last call (it wasn't even eleven!). So we went to this pub for a round of Bell's Oberon w/lemon wedges, which was remarkably good.

On a side note, Peter has made fun of me numerous times for my multisyllabic vocabulary and overabundant use of adverbs.

This morning we had brunch at Angelo's where the homemade bread was yummy and I had a cinnamon raisin waffle. Then Julie went to the lab and Peter took me on a tour of his old stomping grounds. We hit up the art museum for a little and then headed back to the hospital, took Peter to the airport, ran a few errands in town, and now we're vegging in front of the TV with Sex & the City, Ellen, & Gilmore Girls.

And tonight we're going to see Patty. yay! :)
